The problem
100 Cigars moves a lot of stock through its godown. One product arrives at several price points and in packs of four, six or eight, then leaves one piece at a time. A notebook cannot keep up with that, and a billing app is the wrong tool.
What we built
Dukaan Co. is an Android-first app, with a web version, built around one rule: stock is never typed in. Every piece enters through Goods In and leaves through Goods Out with a one-tap reason, and the stock count is worked out from that history.
- Cost is a weighted average calculated inside a database lock, so two people receiving goods at the same moment cannot both read an old figure.
- Margins are frozen on every sale, so a later price change cannot rewrite last month.
- Counts that do not match get recorded as their own movement, never as a silent correction.
- Staff can fix only their own entries and only on the same day. Owners can fix anything. The database enforces both.
- Items get archived, never deleted, so the history survives.
Outcome
The shop tested it on the floor and asked for five changes: bills on Goods In, editing with clear warnings, a vendor quick-pick, a shortage panel and two shops with a combined total. All five shipped in one build.
