Research first
Before building, we studied how Indian cafés already bill: the biggest POS products, what their customers complain about, and the GST, FSSAI and service-charge rules a bill has to follow. That came down to five promises.
- A bill can never be deleted quietly.
- Billing keeps working offline.
- The price on the menu is the price on the bill.
- The owner gets a WhatsApp alert when something unusual happens.
- Compliance is on by default, not a setting.
What we built
A mobile-first web POS. Counter and table modes, kitchen tickets on the printer, 80 mm thermal receipts, split payments with a UPI QR, and manager-PIN control on cancellations. A bill can only be cancelled or reopened on the same day. The day ends with a close-out, and the owner gets an insights dashboard.
The menu and table plan came from the café itself: five indoor tables and eight outdoor ones.
Outcome
It went live on 12 October 2026 and runs at Simp’s Café under their brand.
