The problem
Problem statement 26090, from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment: AI-driven market linkage for marginalised artisans. Many artisans sell only at four to six fairs a year. They cannot write a listing or photograph a product well, and they often price below cost.
What we built
Vistaar is voice first, with three role screens (artisan, buyer and ministry) over one live database.
- Speak, do not type. A voice note becomes a structured listing. If something is missing, the app asks one spoken follow-up question.
- Better photos. An eight-point quality check on the phone, with automatic correction.
- Fair prices. A cost-floor pricing engine that explains itself and blocks prices below cost.
- Reach. Listings publish to several marketplaces through a retrying queue. ONDC is clearly labelled as pending, not faked.
- Orders by phone call. Orders reach the artisan as a phone call in their own language.
- For the ministry. A dashboard tracking the change in median artisan income.
It ships as a web app that installs on the phone and as a 4.7 MB Android app, in eight languages, with 80 self-tests.
