Running a café's Instagram: our monthly plan for Simp's

How we plan, shoot and post for Simp's Café in Dehradun. Eight reels, six posts, two creator collabs and twenty stories a month.

A café’s Instagram fails in one of two ways: it posts nothing for weeks, or it posts menu photos nobody stops for. Simp’s Café in Kandoli already had a personality (maroon, flirty, a heart over the i, and a tagline that does a lot of work: crush, crave, repeat). The job was to make the feed sound like the place, every week.

Shoot once, post all month

A VBH camera operator and a model from our creator roster shot on location over three days. One good shoot gives a month of material: reels, posts, stories and stills, all cut from the same footage so the feed looks like one café, not five.

The monthly plan

  • 8 reels, built around moments people recognise: what to order, who orders what, the café after dark.
  • 6 posts for the grid.
  • 2 creator collabs from our roster, for reach the café could not buy with ads.
  • 20 stories for the day-to-day: new items, crowd shots, offers.

We plan the calendar, write it, schedule it, post it and reply to the comments.

What the reels look like

You can watch them on our reels page. The same café also runs on billing software we built for it, which we wrote about in what a café billing system needs in India.
